Does anyone else have this issue? My brand new laptop (Asus Expertbook, Win 11 24H2, 64 GB RAM and 2TB capacity and Prozessor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1355U, 1700 MHz) was working fine for a few days, until I installed Trados 2024 and Multiterm 2024. Since then I am getting random Bluescreen crashes. I checked for the SSD (Lexar SSD NM710) possibly being at fault, but it is not one of the SSDs known to have issues with the latest Windows Operating System. Obviously all drivers are up to date, this being a brand new laptop (I double checked). So I am at a loss what could cause this. Seems a bit of a coincidence that this has happened after installing Studio, but before it was fine. Nothing else was added to the laptop installation-wise since then. I have also noticed that Smart App Control under Windows Security is trying to suppress the running of Studio, sometimes altogether and sometimes it tells me that some components have been stopped for security reasons. De-activating that feature has no really solved the problem either. Has anybody else run into these problems?
I am unaware of such an error pattern with any version of Trados including pre-Studio ones. This is hardly how Studio would crash out of any process.
I don't have what it takes in the computer hardware realm to provide an informed guess. However, blue screens are sometimes related to overheating (also compare this: laptop = limited ventilation due to the compact form factor, in particular with high-performance CPUs like i7), memory problems, or actual CPU issues.
Cheers.
