Are these Word documents that have actually been transcribed by a human, or is this OCR output?
Whatever you'd charge to check human transcription, you should charge double to check OCR output.
They are asking you to check over 6K words per hour, which is quite ridiculous. Best you can do for them is charge them 1000 words per hour (agencies have this as a going rate for the simplest of editing tasks or simple proofing.)

So, let's say you'd charge USD 25 per 1000 words if these are transcripts done by a human, you need to charge USD 50 if these are OCR output.
They want you to check, 24000 words a day, which is strange to say the least, and best you should promise is 6-8K words a day. If these indeed are human transcripts, and they are nearly perfect, you might be able to get through 10K words a day. This means you will have to decline any other offers of work from your other collaborators. So, rather than promising them all your time, they need to allow for a generous deadline, so you can do 5K words a day and still have time to accept any other potential work. You are a freelancer and your collaborators should respect that whenever they can.
Sometimes deadlines simply are very short, end clients insist on it, in which case you ought to promise them 10K words, not 20 pages at approximately 300 words per page. That is not a reasonable expectation.
Unless, by pages, they meant the PDF pages of some sort of medical forms that usually have over 100 words per page, in which case your 20 pages shall amount to over 2000 words. Which, at an imagined speed of 1000 words per hour, you then would charge 2 hours for. Given that this is same language proofing and, unlike translations, won't require any research and checking of the accuracy of the text, this isn't a bad deal. Mind you, you are only charging for two hours to give them your absolute best rate, but it might take you more to actually check the files. Even if they are nearly perfect, and especially so if this is simple OCR output.
