Flori de mina

Definitie:

Esantion mineral recoltat din subteran, monomineral sau format din mai multe minerale, care poseda calitati estetice deosebite, datorita concresterii cristalelor mineralului sau mineralelor , a culorilor, a formelor (habitus), a dimensiunilor de exceptie a unor cristale componente, calitati care în totalitate fac ca esantionul sa fie bine individualizat fata de altele.

În golurile ramase în interiorul filoanelor , denumite geode, au existat conditii particulare de formare si dezvoltare a mineralelor, crescute dinspre peretii geodei înspre interiorul ei, rezultând esantioane de colectie, asa numitele : "flori de mina".

Geodes (Greek γεώδης - geōdēs, "earthlike") are geological rock formations which occur in sedimentary and certain volcanic rocks. Geodes are essentially rock cavities or vugs with internal crystal formations or concentric banding. The exterior of the most common geodes is generally limestone or a related rock, while the interior contains quartz crystals and/or chalcedony deposits. Other geodes are completely filled with crystal, being solid all the way through. These types of geodes are called nodules.

Halite is the mineral form of sodium chloride, NaCl, commonly known as rock salt. Halite forms isometric crystals. The mineral is typically colorless to yellow, but may also be light blue, dark blue, and pink depending on the amount and type of impurities. It commonly occurs with other evaporite deposit minerals such as several of the sulfates, halides, and borates.
