This is a very common English expression which is not used to describe music you hear, but usually something somebody says. It means that you are pleased to hear something, for example a piece of good news, positive information or a good poem etc. Basically, it is an expression used as a metaphor.

: The "tomshardware.co.uk" link refers to the physical sensation caused by the car's "subs", which means subwoofer audio speakers. The 2nd link "lopdell.org.nz" uses the term in a figurative way as a very poetic title of an exhibition.
