Dear all,

Not sure if it is the right place for this question.

What would be the best way to build a glossary in more than two languages? I am thinking of a list of acronyms in three languages where I need the equivalent both of the acronym and the full name. An example:

AOD Asistencia Oficial para el Desarrollo
ODA Official Development Assistance
APD Aide publique au développement

C&I Criterios e indicaciones (para el Manejo Fore

C&I Criterios e indicaciones (para el Manejo Forestal Sostenible)
C&I Criteria and indicators (for sustainable forest management)
C&I Critères et indicateurs (pour la gestion durable des forêts)

Moreover some are accompanied of remarks, references and definition.

I only see the possibility to have a database with crossreferences. Any other solutions?

Thank you in advance

How about MultiTerm? Jun 10, 2004

Hi,

Why don't you do it with MultiTerm? This gives you the option to define six index fields (one for each language and one for each abbreviation of the six languages). Moreover, you can add definitions, context, sources - whatever you like.

Best regards,

Susanne

is a database application the only solution? Jun 11, 2004

Dear Sven,

Thank you very much for your reply. I thought already to a similar solution, using a database. I am wondering if such a solution is common amongst translators.

Best regards

Looking for a free easy-to-use interface Jun 19, 2004

Hi all,

I'd like to build an English-French-Arabic glossary. I'm looking for an easy and simple way to do it.

I went through the links cited in this thread but was too complicated for me.

So I'd like a software that supports Arabic letters too.

I tried Babylon Builder and there's only space for 2 languages. Is FrameMaker of Adode any good?

Thank you
