Other CAT tools may have a function to insert a GT match into the target field automatically. One thing that many translators have commented on is the fact that GT often gives one insights into alternative ways to translate things, even if they're not directly usable. Other translators use GT as a typing aid. For example, if you can somehow add the GT match to your per-word autocompleter (e.g. LetMeType), then this will help you type certain words faster, if those are also in the GT match, even if you don't make use of any phrase within the actual GT translation. | | | Heinrich Pesch Finlanda Local time: 02:22 Membru (2003) din finlandeză în germană + ...
This coincides with the fact that today for the first time I used GT within WFP. It certainly is a useful aid, and gives you some good laughs in between.

(Note WF Classic - and WF Anywhere - can access a VLTM (Very Large Translation Memory). In this case, there is no submission of TU's to GT so the same confidentiality considerations do not apply). ▲ Collapse | | | Per Magnus Local time: 01:22 din engleză în norvegiană Submit TU’s to GT | May 27, 2011 |

How does this happen? Can you choose to submit the TU or will it happen automatically when you use GT in for instance Trados? | | | It would be a pity | May 27, 2011 |
If this option would disappear. Still I can believe that providing it costs them a lot and they are not getting any financial reward so the move is understandable. Still I hope that they won't remove this option entirely. S

I don't think GT can retrieve anything from your PC... it might retain the source text, but not the translation, which is on your machine, unless you send it to them?

I don't know how it works, but sometimes I have the feeling that GT learns in the process, from my adjustments. But in other cases it repeats its stupidities no matter how often I discard the suggestion. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » No more Google Translate in CAT tools?
