Medical Assistant
In nici un caz nu cred ca este corect "generalist ...". De exemplu medicul de familie, GP, este General Practitioner, sper ca vedeti diferenta. Mai exista si Clinical Medical Assistant "A clinical medical assistant is hired to do deal directly with patients. Their duties center on patient care such as making sure that examination rooms, and treatment areas are clean, well stocked and organized.
Medical assistants work in hospitals, medical offices and clinics etc. Medical assistants used to be hired without formal training, just to have graduated from high school before being hired. They were ofered training on the job (CMA)
Another way medical assistants earn credentials is to be a registered medical assistant (RMA).

The Free Dictionary mai menționează și alte diferențieri:
community nurse, community health nurse, district nurse, general duty nurse, graduate nurse, licensed practical nurse, licensed vocational nurse, public health nurse (http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Registered N...
Am mai găsit o unică ocurență a sintagmei "generalist medical nurse", care însă nu indică faptul că ar exista un post astfel numit: "What exactly psychiatric/mental health nursing is remains very much in doubt. Indeed, so dubious is this branch of nursing that it seems likely that dedicated education will disappear shortly in the UK, as has happened in most other Western countries, to be replaced by a ‘generalist’ medical nurse, with a tagged-on ‘psychiatric’ training." http://www.soteria.freeuk.com/jpm_1290.pdf
Pe un site al guvernului australian se anunță anagajări pe postul de "Generalist Registered Nurse" http://nswhealth.erecruit.com.au/ViewPosition.aspx?Id=60537
