(pumnal/jungher) Ge Explanation: A Ge or dagger ax that is attributed to the Chu culture of ancient China and dates to the Warring States period of the Zhou dynasty. It has inscribed decoration on both sides of the nei and has a four character inscription in ancient Chu script on the right side. It measures just over 9.5 inches in length and weighs an impressive 313 grams. The metal has been lightly cleaned to show the decoration and script. Pieces like this are rarely found outside of museums. http://www.youngmuseum.com/the_richard_nable_collection.htm In urma conflictelor repetate cu chinezii, mongolii au adoptat un gen de lance-halebarda specifica infanteristilor imperiali, denumita Ge. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 15 minute (2012-03-20 08:29:17 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ge_(Waffe) http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gē Now this pole-arm can be called the Ge, you see that there is lethal stuff on each side, but it also used to have a spear right on top to stab with. Some were manufactured to be up to 18 feet long, but most were shorter. http://eatrc.maxforum.org/2010/06/16/khergit-khanate-western... |
