Total relief Jun 26, 2007

I’m working on a document right now that’s like one of those nightmares you have in which you’re running as fast as you can but don’t seem to get anywhere.

I’m waiting to reach the end and feel this description from the Cambridge International:

Relief (HAPPINESS)
Noun [S or U]
a feeling of happiness that something unpleasant…has ended.

Phew!

After I finish a large translation, I feel completely happy because I accomplished the task and also because I will face a new challenge.
Regards!

Mentally drained, but happy Jun 26, 2007

Like the feeling I had after end-of-year school exams.
It's always combined with a desire to go shopping for an entire day!

You're right, John.

No doubts, the larger the document, the higher the stress and anxiety to finish it. I don't know why, but those documents seem to be endless. No matter how fast you type or how many hours a day you work, you get the idea of not progessing at all.

What a relief to have that "feeling of happiness that something unpleasant…has ended."

The original poll I submitted... Jun 26, 2007

Actually, the original poll I submitted was on emotions upon being awarded a fairly large job, and not upon delivering it. I am with Ramona on this one Jun 26, 2007

I used to be happy and excited when I got big jobs - now I like the ones that I can finish within one or two working days max. Anything longer than that is "stress".
When delivering a big job, I'm usually relieved, but it also depends on the deadline: If it was a rush-job, then I'm worried for days that the client comes back with an error I didn't catch!

Wasn't stressful as I had a reasonable deadline, was very comfortable with the subject matter and, most of all, could continue to do regular clients' jobs (which is almost always the downside to large jobs).

However, just received notification from agency's bank that payment has been transferred to my bank account, despite only being due 24 July, so I'll allow myself a little belated satisfaction at this stage

A mixture of everything Jun 26, 2007

It's difficult to find a right word to describe what I really feel after a project is done. Generally I can say that I'm happy, but I am also satisfied because I was able to finish my job. Of course, if the deadline is very tight, I have to admit that I feel very tired.

Dear Steven,
Please keep the puppy - be kind to it. For me it's mega-relief plus happiness, plus no excuse not to do the gardening/housework etc. but more likely watch Colombo for the umpteenth time.
Love,
Jenny.
