Comparison of Texts

I was wondering if anyone could suggest a way of comparing text.
I did a translation of a manual (Not with Trados) last year.
Now they want this year's done, and according to them there not many changes.
We are talking about over 500 pages so I was wondering if anyone uses any specific program for this type of work.

I use Workshare DeltaView - not exactly cheap, but well worth it.

There are many ways of doing this, but the simplest one is using Word itself.

In Word, go to the Tools > Compare documents, choose the necessary documents and options, and you are done.

What I would recommend: if the document is really so large, it would be better to split it into several smaller files. It would be much easier to work with them.

ExamDiff's free version can tell you which paragraphs have changed. ExamDiff Pro (USD 35.00) can tell you which words have changed.
