Seven years ago, ProZ.com gave me an unexpected opportunity to finally start teleworking in translation.

I would certainly recommend becoming a paying member at ProZ.com. I started with a free membership, but I have had much more work since I decided to invest in ProZ.com membership. Now I don't have any delay before quoting for a "private" job posting, I have access to the LWA of every outsourcer on the Blue Board, and I can meet fellow translators via the site or at a powwow.

I am convinced that without ProZ.com, I would never have made the contacts I need to work as a full time professional translator. Not only have I received job offers, but I have also established valuable relationships with other translators which have evolved into a mutual support network of trusted colleagues. I would especially encourage you to try to answer KudoZ questions. This will help you build your research skills and demonstrate your competence to fellow translators.

Being a member has enabled me to contact many new clients, most of which I now receive regular work from. Next to professional qualifications, ProZ.com membership is the best investment a translator can make.

I've been a member since 2005, Plus member since it started. As it's my only marketing channel I'm quite positive about it. I attended a ProZ.com conference in Eiffel Tower in 2010 and met Henry and other ProZ.com people there. I'll use ProZ.com services for as long as I translate. For me, the most useful function is the Blue Board. All of my clients have come via ProZ.com, both agencies and direct clients, even if not directly via ProZ.com but as recommended by my clients.

ProZ.com membership increases your outlook and gives you exposure: You can be found. You are someone, your efforts can be appreciated by others (particularly outsourcers).

I found ProZ.com quite useful initially (the term search, KudoZ, the glossaries, etc.), but it really came into its own when I became a paying member. Now, nearly all of my jobs come through my ProZ.com profile, and through repeat requests from regular clients, and I can't remember the last time I actually bid for a job.

The Blue Board is extremely useful for filtering out undesirable clients (bad/slow payers) - a feature that is only available to full members, but it is worth its weight in gold.

ProZ.com has acted as my guide. With my ProZ.com membership, I'm a happy, fully-fledged freelancer and I can safely say that I wouldn't be where I am today without the knowledge that I have gained from the site or the friendly community support network. Thank you!

This past year has been great. I woke up one morning deciding to go back to translating full time but I was not 100% sure that my decision was the right one. I left my "safe" English teaching job and recontacted my old clients. It didn't take long and I was soon back on track. Thanks to ProZ I have made contacts with new agencies around the world. I have met colleagues worldwide and found new friends... Words are my passion and this is the ideal job for me with growing children who love to see me around. I really like ProZ.com and I should’ve joined this platform much earlier. Since joining I've learned so much, from setting up my profile to being more knowledgeable about rates and dealing with agencies or clients.

In my case, an agency found me on ProZ.com and I got a dream job (10-year full time translation project) which changed my life completely. Later, I found a job post on ProZ which put me into $10K book translation project. Just 2 big ones in years but these were real jewels.
