I am trying to get started as a
part time, freelance translator. Since 2016, I have been appointed and awarded by
the Public Service Department (JPA) and Institute of Language and Literature
(DBP) Malaysia as a Munsyi Muda Bahasa, a language referrer specialist in Bahasa
Melayu/Malay at the national level.

I have never translated for money
before but I feel very confident in my abilities (at least for English – Malay).
Apart of that, I am also good in my mother tongue language which is Kadazan
Dusun. In academic area, im just finish doing my master degree in Social
Science (Politics,Strategy and Security), International Relations degree, as
well as taking Japanese Language as my third language.

Beside that, I have 7 years of
work experince at ministry department (Ministry of Women, Family and Community,
university) in various field. Having
specialised in the areas of welfare, legal, economic and medical texts, I have
gathered substantial experience in the translation of contracts, financial
reports, press releases and clinical studies. My customers are translation
agencies as well as companies and organisations of different sizes and
industries.

I am very
flexible in terms of working hours and workload because I am prepared to work
late and also on weekends in case of urgent projects.  Translating has
become more of a passion than a job to me. I enjoy the constant intellectual
challenge it offers. It is an activity where I can make full use of my language
potential and skills. I am type of person who are diligent, resourceful and
quick. Quality and reliability are of utmost importance to me.

My rates depend
on the type of text and range from 0.04 – 0.06 USD per word of the source text.
