Anschluß an vorgeschaltete Preisaus-zeichner
Auf Seite 3 wurde bereits darauf hingewiesen, dass eine XYZ-Anlage an einen vorgeschalteten Preis-auszeichner angeschlossen werden muß. Für alle gängigen Fabrikate und Typen von Preisaus-zeichnern verfügt das XYZ-System über ein komfortables Schnittstellen-Menü, welches die jeweils erforderliche Parametrierung des seriellen AB-232 C Anschlusses automatisch vornimmt. Darüber hinaus kann jeder einzelne Parameter nach Bedarf verändert werden.
Der Preisauszeichner übermittelt in der Regel den Gewichts- Messwert der Produkte gleichzeitig mit der Übertragung an den Etiketten-Drucker. Die XYZ-Anlage kann je nach Systemaufbau den Triggerzeitpunkt danach exakt definieren oder benötigt einen Sensor zum Erfassen der Produkte an einer bestimmten Position. Vom Zeitpunkt der Triggerung an (automatisch oder per Sensor) erfolgt das Ansteuern der pneumatisch betätigten Auswerfer durch Zählen von Impulsen, die ein Encoder dem XYZ-System liefert. Die Auflösung beträgt weniger als 10 mm Laufstrecke. Die Laufzeit (Anzahl Impulse) zu jedem einzelnen Auswerfer ist parametrierbar, zusätzlich ist eine Gesamt-Verschiebung möglich.
Bedienung und Parametrierung des XYZ- Systems
Das XYZ-System verfügt über 100 Artikel-Datenspeicherbänke. Dies bedeutet, dass alle produktabhängig relevanten Daten unter einer 8-stelligen Artikel-Nummer registriert werden können und durch Anwählen sofort abrufbar sind. Zusätzlich kann jedem Artikel ein Texteintrag beigefügt werden. Alle angelegten Artikel können dann im Menü „ARTIKEL-LISTE“ aufgerufen werden. Dort stehen sie zeilenweise aufgelistet. Somit ist der Umgang mit dem System – sind alle Produktdaten einmal angelegt – äußerst einfach. Der Bediener benötigt lediglich die START/STOP Funktion, hat die Artikel-Liste aufzurufen, markiert die Zeile mit dem gewünschten Produkt und betätigt die Eingabetaste. Damit ist das XYZ- System für das neu zu produzierende Produkt fertig parametriert. Die Parametrierung zum Anlegen neuer Artikel bzw. die Veränderung vorhandener Parameter ist durch einen Zahlencode geschützt. Somit sind nur berechtigte Personen in der Lage, diese Funktionen durchzuführen.
Die anlagenspezifischen Grundeinstellungen werden vor oder während der Inbetriebnahme von unseren Technikern durchgeführt. Hierzu zählen insbesondere das Einstellen der Auswerfer (siehe Hinweis unter „EXPERTEN-EBENE“) und die Verknüpfung mit dem vorgeschalteten Preisaus-zeichner.

Connection to upstream pricing machine
As indicated on page 3, the XYZ system must be connected to an upstream pricing machine. The XYZ system is equipped with a user-friendly interface menu suitable for all makes and types of pricing machines currently in use; this menu automatically undertakes the respective parameterisation necessary for the serial AB-232 C connection. Beyond this, each individual parameter can be modified as needed.
The pricing machine generally transmits the products’ weight measurement simultaneously with conveyance to the label printer. After which the XYZ system can, depending on system composition, exactly define the trigger time period or requires a sensor for capturing the products in a certain position. From the time of triggering (whether automatic or via sensor), the pneumatically activated ejectors are controlled by counting the impulses which an encoder transmits to the XYZ system. The length of the run for this process is less than 10 mm. Runtime (number of impulses) for each individual ejector can be parameterised; a complete shift is also possible.
XYZ System operation and parameterisation
The XYZ system is equipped with more than 100 item data storage banks. This means that all relevant product-dependent data can be registered under an 8-digit item number and are immediately accessible by entering that number. Additionally, a text entry can be appended to each item. All stored items can then be accessed from the “ITEM LIST” menu, where they are listed line-by-line. This makes it – once all product data have been entered – extremely easy to use the system. The operator only needs the START/STOP function, calls up the item list, marks the lines with the desired product and hits the enter key. The XYZ system is now completely parameterised for production of the new product. Parameterisation for entering new items or for modifying existing parameters is protected by a numerical code. This allows only authorised personnel to activate these functions.
The system-specific basic settings are implemented by our technicians before or during the start-up procedure. In particular, this includes adjusting the ejectors (see note under “EXPERT LEVEL”) and hooking the system up to the upstream pricing machine.

EU-Finanzminister gegen Protektionismus

Die EU-Finanzminister haben sich in allgemeiner Form gegen Protektionismus ausgesprochen. Zum Abschluß einer informellen Ministertagung am Wochenende in Wien sagte der amtierende Ratsvorsitzende, Österreichs Finanzminister Karl-Heinz Grasser, von dem Treffen sei ein „klares Signal” ausgegangen, „daß neuer Protektionismus die Probleme in Europa vergrößert und bestehender Protektionismus ein Grund ist für die hohe Arbeitslosigkeit in unseren Ländern”.
Der Präsident der Europäischen Zentralbank, Jean-Claude Trichet, fügte hinzu, Protektionismus nach innen und außen sei ein Wachstumsrisiko. Bundesbankpräsident Axel Weber sprach davon, daß die „Wohlfahrtseinbußen” in jenen Ländern am größten seien, die sich dem Wettbewerb zu entziehen versuchten.
Wenig Resonanz für Gordon Browns Vorschlag
Dabei klammerten die Finanzminister aber die laufenden Streitfälle weitgehend aus, die auf „wirtschaftspatriotische” Initiativen von Mitglied-staaten wie Frankreich, Spanien und Polen zurück-gehen. Diese Länder versuchen, Übernahmen einheimischer Unternehmen durch ausländische Konkurrenz zu verhindern.
Der italienische Finanzminister Giulio Tremonti, der vor zwei Wochen eine gemeinsame Initiative gegen den Protektionismus in den Mitgliedstaaten gefordert hatte, sagte in Wien nur, die Europäische Kommission müsse genügend Kompetenzen erhalten, um wirksam gegen Protektionismus vorgehen zu können. Auf wenig Resonanz stieß ein Vorschlag des britischen Finanzministers Gordon Brown, ein unabhängiges Gremium zur Überwachung von Wettbewerbs-beschränkungen in einzelnen Sektoren einzusetzen.
Bundesfinanzminister Peer Steinbrück (SPD) sagte, er unterstütze zwar Browns Anliegen im Grundsatz. Wie es am besten in die Tat umgesetzt werden könne, müsse aber noch geprüft werden. EU-Wirtschafts- und Währungskommissar Joaquin Almunia sagte, für die Durchsetzung des Binnenmarkts sei die Kommission zuständig. Sie habe ihre Kompetenz mit der Eröffnung unzähliger Vertragsverletzungsverfahren unter Beweis gestellt.

EU Finance ministers have spoken out in general form against protectionism. In concluding an informal ministers’ conference over the weekend in Vienna, the residing counsel head, Austria’s finance minister Karl-Heinz Grasser, said of the meeting that a “clear signal” had gone out “that new protectionism increases the problems in Europe and existing protectionism is a reason for the high unemployment in our countries.”
The president of the European Central Bank, Jean-Claude Trichet, added that protectionism, both interior and exterior, is a risk to growth. The president of the Federal Bank of Germany, Axel Weber, spoke of the social welfare reductions being greatest in those countries which were attempting to withdraw from competition.
Little Resonance for Gordon Brown’s Proposal
The finance ministers thereby largely marginalized those continuing points of contention which arose from the “business-patriotic” initiatives of member states such as France, Spain and Poland. These countries are attempting to prevent takeovers of native businesses by foreign competition.
Italian finance minister Giulio Tremonti, who two weeks ago called for a communal initiative against protectionism in member states, said only in Vienna that the European Commission must be given sufficient authority to be able to work effectively against protectionism. A proposal by British finance minister Gordon Brown to introduce an independent committee responsible for monitoring limitations to competition in individual sectors met with little resonance.
The German federal finance minister, Peer Steinbrück (SDP), said that he fundamentally supported Brown’s intentions. How it can best be put into practice, however, has yet to be determined. EU Commissioner of Commerce and Currency, Joaquin Almunia, said that the Commission is responsible for implementation of the domestic market. It has put its authority to the test with the opening of countless court cases involving breaches of contract.

In Italië is de kreet ‘ik doe de pasta in de pan!’ synoniem voor ‘aan tafel!’. Op het moment dat je begint, moet alles klaarstaan: de tafel is gedekt en hongerige familie en vrienden zitten eromheen, borden zijn voorverwarmd, het vergiet staat klaar en de saus wacht geduldig.
Breng een ruime hoeveelheid water aan de kook in een grote pan: één liter per honderd gram. Pasta zet uit en heeft ‘bewegingsvrijheid’ nodig zodat de vormen niet aan elkaar plakken. Bovendien mag het water niet teveel afkoelen op het moment dat de pasta erbij gaat, want ook daar kan hij plakkerig van worden. Voeg het zout pas toe als het water kookt, anders zakt het naar de metalen bodem en gaat een chemische reactie aan met de pan. Olie toevoegen om plakken te voorkomen heeft geen zin: die blijft op het water drijven.
Voeg de pasta in één keer toe aan het kokende water, zodat alles gelijkmatig gaart. Zet lange vormen eerst rechtop en duw ze onder zodra ze zachter zijn. Roer een keer en doe dan het deksel op de pan om het water snel weer aan de kook te brengen. Door het deksel een beetje schuin te zetten, kun je voorkomen dat het overkookt.
Als het water opnieuw kookt, mag het deksel er af. Draai het vuur lager en zorg dat het water rustig blijft borrelen. Roer af en toe door de pasta. Het kookproces duurt maar kort en zelfs een halve minuut teveel kan funest zijn voor de smaak en structuur, dus blijf er gewoon even bij.
We kunnen het niet vaak genoeg zeggen: pasta hoort al dente te zijn, dus gaar, maar nog wel stevig. Fijne, verse pasta is soms al na een halve minuut al dente, dikke gedroogde pasta heeft langer nodig – soms bijna een kwartier. Let op de aanwijzingen op de verpakking, maar proef vooral zelf.
Is de pasta goed, giet hem dan direct af. Vang een beetje kookwater op: in Italië wordt hiermee de saus verdund als die te dik mocht zijn. Schud vooral bij holle pastavormen het vergiet goed heen en weer, zodat al het water eruit kan lopen. Meng de pasta direct door de warme saus of, afhankelijk van het recept, de saus door de pasta.
Op z’n Italiaans zijn er twee manieren om pasta te serveren: óf in een grote schaal die de tafelgenoten aan elkaar doorgeven, óf in individuele kommen. In elk geval is dit het moment waarop het muisstil wordt aan tafel. Laat beleefdheden voor wat ze zijn en val meteen aan: de pasta is nú op zijn lekkerst!
Translation - English Everything You Need to Know About Pasta
In Italy, when the cook calls out 'I'm putting the pasta in the pot!' that means ‘get ready, dinner is served!'. From the moment you start, everything must be ready: the table set, with hungry friends and family gathered round, the plates warmed, the colander ready in the sink and the sauce waiting patiently for a ladle.
Bring a generous amount of water to a boil in a large pot: one litre (~4 cups) per hundred grams (3.5 oz) of pasta. Pasta will expand in the water and needs some ‘elbow room’ to prevent clumping. Also, make sure that the water does not lose too much of its heat when the pasta is put in, as this can also make it stick. Do not salt the water until boiling. In still water, the salt will sink to the bottom of the pot and cause a chemical reaction with the metal. Putting oil in the water to prevent sticking is a futile enterprise – it will just stay on top of the water.
Put all the pasta in at the same time to ensure that it cooks evenly. If using long noodles, insert them vertically and let them stand until softened a bit, then push them under. Stir once, then cover the pot to bring the water to a boil again as quickly as possible. If you’re worried about it boiling over, set the lid slightly askew to let some steam escape.
Once the water is boiling hard again, uncover the pot. Reduce the heat, making sure that the water keeps a boil. Stir the pasta now and again. The boiling process does not take long. Even half a minute too long can be disastrous for flavour and texture, so just keep an eye on it.
We can't say it often enough: pasta needs to be al dente, meaning tender, but still quite firm. Fine, fresh pasta sometimes only requires 30 seconds to be al dente, while thick dry pasta takes longer – sometimes close to a quarter-hour. Pay attention to the instructions on the package but, above all, try it out for yourself.
If the pasta is ready, strain it immediately. Set a little of the cooking water aside. In Italy, this is added to the sauce if it gets too thick. Shake the colander back and forth well to make sure the water drains, especially with hollow pastas. Immediately mix the pasta into the sauce or, depending on the recipe, the sauce into the pasta.
There are two proper Italian ways to serve pasta – either in a large serving bowl which is passed around the table, or in individual bowls. Either way, this is the moment when everybody seems to get really quiet. Forget niceties for a moment and just dig in, because the pasta is now at its tastiest!

Derden : De vakantiewoning zoekende.
Touroperator : De reisorganisatie of organisaties waar opdrachtnemer actief de onroerende zaak, gelegen in Costa Rica, voor verhuur zal aanbieden.
1. Toepasselijkheid
a. Deze voorwaarden zijn van toepassing op alle door ABC gedane offertes en op alle aan ABC opgedragen en door ABC als opdracht aanvaarde werkzaamheden in de meest ruime zin des woords, behoudens indien en voorzover door ABC met een opdrachtgever schriftelijk uitdrukkelijk anders wordt overeengekomen, en voorts op alle overeenkomsten tussen ABC en een touroperator.
b. De vernietiging en/of de nietigheid van enige bepaling van deze voorwaarden laat de geldigheid van de overige bepalingen van deze voorwaarden onverlet.
c. Door de opdrachtgever of touroperator ingeroep-en algemene voorwaarden worden door ABC slechts aanvaardt voor zover deze geen strijdigheid opleveren met de algemene voorwaarden van ABC. In geval van een strijdigheid als hiervoor bedoeld wijst ABC de toepasselijkheid van de door opdrachtgever of touroperator ingeroepen algemene voorwaarden uitdrukkelijk van de hand.
2. Duur van de overeenkomst en bevoegdheid
a. Een opdracht wordt pas geacht door ABC te zijn aanvaard na schriftelijke opdrachtbevestiging zijdens ABC , dan wel, bij ontbreken daarvan, nadat met de aan ABC opgedragen werkzaamheden door ABC een feitelijk aanvang is gemaakt.
b. Iedere opdracht, door de opdrachtgever aan ABC verstrekt, wordt geacht te zijn verstrekt voor onbepaalde tijd, tenzij uitdrukkelijk door partijen anders wordt overeengekomen.
c. De opdrachtgever heeft geen zeggenschap over de wijze waarop de individuele opdracht, of deelopdracht, door ABC wordt uitgevoerd, tenzij tussen partijen anders wordt overeengekomen.
3. Gegevensverstrekking
a. De opdrachtgever verplicht zich om inlichtingen en/of bescheiden welke ABC stelt nodig te hebben voor een juiste uitvoering van de desbetreffende opdracht, binnen veertien dagen na het verzoek van ABC daartoe, te verstrekken.
b. Mocht ABC binnen veertien dagen na de tweede herinnering aan het verzoek als bedoeld onder a de gevraagde informatie niet hebben ontvangen, zonder dat de opdrachtgever schriftelijk aan ABC te kennen heeft gegeven dat de gevraagde informatie niet c.q. niet tijdig kan worden gegeven, wordt de opdrachtgever geacht de verdere uitvoering van de betreffende individuele opdracht, of deel daarvan, te hebben geannuleerd, waardoor het bepaalde in artikel 6.b. van toepassing is. ABC erkent geen enkele aansprakelijkheid voor het ontbreken van bepaalde gegevens, noch voor de juistheid daarvan.
4. Declaratie
a. De hoogte van de declaratie wordt bepaald overeenkomstig de tussen partijen overeengekomen bemiddelingsfee, vermeerderd met de omzet-belasting (BTW) en andere heffingen welke van overheidswege zijn opgelegd, zulks tenzij tussen partijen anders wordt overeengekomen. Eventuele bijkomende kosten worden doorberekend.
b. De declaratie door ABC aan opdrachtgever in geval van verhuur vindt plaats conform de ANVR Reisvoorwaarden, te weten uiterlijk 6 weken voordat conform de overeenkomst van verhuur tussen opdrachtgever en een derde de daadwerk-elijke huur plaatsvindt, tenzij uitdrukkelijk schrift-elijk anders wordt overeengekomen. Declaratie aan een touroperator vindt eveneens plaats conform de ANVR Reisvoorwaarden. Declaratie in geval van verkoop vindt plaats uiterlijk de maand volgende waarop de overdracht tussen opdrachtgever en de derde heeft plaatsgevonden, of zoals door partijen nader schriftelijk overeengekomen is.

Definitions.
Contractor : The limited liability company ABC Property & Rental, located with registered office in (…), at the address (…), hereafter named ‘ABC’.
Client : The natural or legal entity to whom an offer is made by the contractor or with whom the contractor concludes an agreement within the framework of the services it offers.
Services : All facilities and services offered by the contractor pertaining to brokerage, consultation and guidance of the client and third parties in regards to the sale and rental of a real estate property in Costa Rica.
Third parties : Those seeking a holiday home.
Tour operator : The travel organisation or organisations where the contractor shall actively offer the real estate property, located in Costa Rica, for rent.
1. Applicability
a. These conditions apply to all offers made by ABC and to all operations assigned ABC and accepted as assignments by ABC in the broadest sense of the word, except in the case in which and insofar as ABC makes an express written agreement to the contrary with a client, and furthermore to all agreements between ABC and a tour operator.
b. The invalidity and/or inapplicability of any provision contained in these conditions does not affect the validity or applicability of the remaining provisions.
c. The general conditions invoked by the client or tour operator shall only be accepted by ABC insofar as these do not conflict in any way with the general conditions of ABC. In the case of a conflict as indicated above, ABC expressly rejects the applicability of the general conditions invoked by the client or tour operator.
2. Duration of agreement and authorisation
a. An assignment is only considered accepted by ABC after written confirmation of that assignment on the part of ABC, or, failing this, after ABC has actually started work on the operations assigned it.
b. Every assignment issued ABC by the client is considered issued for an undetermined period of time, unless the parties expressly agree to the contrary.
c. The client is not entitled to dictate the manner in which the individual assignment, or partial assignment, is carried out by ABC, unless the parties agree to the contrary.
3. Data provision
a. The client is obligated to provide ABC with information and/or documents which ABC indicates is/are necessary for proper implementation of the relevant assignment within fourteen days after ABC’s request.
b. Should ABC not have received the requested information within fourteen days after the second reminder of the request as indicated under provision a, and the client has not provided ABC with a written indication that the requested information cannot be provided, and/or cannot be provided in a timely fashion, then the client shall be regarded as having cancelled further implementation of the relevant individual assignment, whereby the stipulation contained in article 6.b applies. ABC bears no liability for the lack of any data, nor for the accuracy of such.
4. Declaration
a. The amount of the declaration is determined as corresponding to the brokerage fee agreed upon by the parties, plus VAT and other charges levied by the state, unless the parties agree to the contrary. Any supplementary costs will also be charged.
b. The declaration made to the client by ABC in the case of rental shall take place in conformance with the ANVR Conditions of Travel, viz. no later than 6 weeks before the rental property is actually occupied in conformance with the lease concluded between the client and a third party, unless an express written agreement to the contrary is made. Declaration to a tour operator shall also take place in conformance with the ANVR Conditions of Travel. Declaration in the case of sale shall take place no later than the month following that in which the transfer between the client and the third party has taken place, or as specifically agreed in writing by the parties.

De ventilatorunit heeft een directe aandrijving door een ingebouwde F 300 norm motor in de luchtstroom. De waaier met gleufwikkeling heeft achterover gebogen schoepen en is direct op de as van de norm motor gemonteerd.
De toegepaste norm motoren zijn IP 55, ISO H, F300 (volgens EN 12101-3). De aansluitspanning is 400/3/50. De aansluiting vindt plaats middels een losse kabel die, voorzien van een trekontlasting, uit de unit komt of via de gemonteerde werkschakelaar. De ventilator dient te allen tijde op een correcte wijze geaard te zijn.
De ventilatorunit is bestemd voor montage aan plafonds/wand waarbij het niet toegestaan is de ventilatorunit (verticaal) naar bovengericht uit te laten blazen. De veiligheidsvoorzieningen moeten voldoen aan de eisen van EN 292.
2.2. Technische gegevens.
De technische gegevens en toelaatbare grenswaarden staan vermeld in het technische gegevensblad (bijlage). Deze waarden mogen niet worden overschreden.
3. BEDOELD GEBRUIK.
3.1. Bedoeld gebruik.
De ventilatorunits zijn bestemd voor het afzuigen/transporteren van schone en lichtvervuilde lucht en andere, niet-agressieve gassen of dampen (met een temperatuurbereik van -20°C tot 50°C in de standaard bedrijfssituatie).
Ieder hiervan afwijkend gebruik is niet toegestaan; XYZ International BV aanvaardt derhalve geen aansprakelijkheid voor de daaruit voortvloeiende persoonlijke of materiele schade! Tevens vervalt de geldigheid van de CE-markering.
Indien gebruik gemaakt wordt van regelapparatuur met elektronische onderdelen (b.v. frequentievormers), moeten de aanbevelingen van die fabrikant in acht worden genomen (bijvoorbeeld: aarding, kabellengten, kabelafscherming, enz.)
3.2. Onbedoeld gebruik.
Onder onjuist gebruik wordt onder andere verstaan het verplaatsen van:
- gassen en dampen met een temperatuur hoger of lager dan de voorgeschreven temperatuur,
- agressieve gassen of dampen,
- gassen of dampen met een hoog stofgehalte.

The fan unit has a direct drive from a built-in F 300 standard motor in the airflow. The impeller, complete with slot-winding, has back-bent blades and is installed directly on the standard motor's axle.
The applied standard motors are the IP 55, ISO H and F300 (in accordance with EN 12101-3). The connection voltage is 400/3/50. The power supply connection is through a free cable which, equipped with a pull relief, extends from the unit or through the installed work switch. The fan must be properly grounded at all times.
The fan unit is intended for installation on a ceiling/wall whereby it is not permitted to have the fan unit arranged (vertically) blowing out upwards. Safety precautions must comply with the requirements contained in EN 292.
2.2. Technical specifications.
The technical specifications and permissible boundary values are contained in the technical specifications sheet (attachment). These values may not be exceeded.
3. PROPER USAGE.
3.1. Proper usage.
The fan units are intended for extraction/conveyance of clean and slightly polluted air and other, non-aggressive gasses or fumes (with a temperature range of -20° C to 50° C in the standard operational situation).
Any usage deviating from that stated above is not permitted; XYZ International PLC bears no liability for any personal or material damage resulting from such deviation! The validity of the CE designation shall likewise expire.
In the case that regulating equipment with electronic components (such as frequency modulators) is used, the manufacturer's recommendations must be complied with (for example: grounding, cable lengths, cable guards, etc.)
3.2. Improper usage.
Improper usage includes, but is not limited to, the transfer of:
- gasses and fumes with a temperature higher or lower than the prescribed temperature,
- aggressive gasses or fumes,
- gasses or fumes with a high dust content.
Possible results:
corrosion damage, equilibrium loss, vibration, deformation, damage from tear.

Source text - Dutch Chodorkovski gewond door aanslag in gevangenis
Moskou – De voormalige Russische oliemagnaat Michail Chodorkovski is gewond geraakt door een aanslag op hem in de Siberische cel waar hij een celstraf van acht jaar uitzit. De oprichter van het olieconcern Yukos is met een mes in zijn gezicht gestoken, maakte zijn advocaat Joeri Shmidt zaterdag bekend.
Na de steekpartij, donderdagavond, is Chodorkovski opgenomen in het gevangenis-ziekenhuis. Over de achtergronden van de aanslag is nog niets bekend. Volgens Shmidt heeft zijn client hem verteld dat de gevangenis-autoriteiten geen strafrechtelijk onderzoek zijn begonnen, hoewel bekend is wie de dader is.
De directeur van de gevangenis zei dat het verhaal van Shmidt onjuist is. Volgens hem was Chodorkovski ’s nachts in een handgemeen geraakt met een bevriende medegevangene. Die zou hem op zijn neus hebben geslagen. Van diepe verwondingen is volgens hem geen sprake.
Chodorkovski was ooit een van de rijkste mannen in Rusland. Hij werd vorig jaar veroordeeld tot acht jaar gevangenisstraf voor fraude en belastingontduiking. Chodorkovski is opgesloten in een afgelegen strafkamp. Een van de andere grootaandeelhouders van Yukos, Platon Lebedev, onderging hetzelfde lot. Beide mannen zeggen hun banden met Yukos te hebben verbroken. Het concern bevindt zich op de rand van de financiele afgrond omdat de Russische belastingdienst de Yukos-banktegoed-en heeft bevroren en miljarden eist die het bedrijf aan belasting zou hebben moeten betalen. Een groep westerse banken heeft het faillissement van Yukos aangevraagd en deskundigen vermoeden dat het bedrijf uiteindelijk zal worden opgeslokt door zijn grootste schuldeiser, het staatsoliebedrijf Rosneft.
Vorige maand meldden de advocaten van Chodorkovski dat zij een klacht hebben ingediend bij het Europees Hof voor de Mensenrechten in Straatsburg. Ze weigerde in te gaan op de precieze inhoud van hun klacht. Volgens critici was het process tegen Chodorkovski politiek gemotiveerd. Translation - English Chodorkovsky wounded in prison attack
Moscow – The former Russian oil magnate Mikhail Chodorkovsky was wounded in an attack on him in the Siberian cell where he is sitting out an eight-year prison sentence. His lawyer, Yuri Shmidt, announced Saturday that the founder of the oil concern Yukos was stabbed in the face with a knife.
Chodorkovsky was received in the prison infirmary after the stabbing Thursday evening. Nothing is yet known about the background to the attack. According to Shmidt, his client has told him that the prison authorities have begun no legal investigation, even though the perpetrator is known.
The prison director said that Shmidt’s story is incorrect. According to him, Chodorkovsky got into a fistfight with a fellow prisoner with whom he was befriended. The fellow prisoner supposedly hit him on the nose. According to him, there is no talk of deep wounds.
Chodorkovsky was once one of the richest men in Russia. Last year he was sentenced to a prison term of eight years for fraud and tax evasion. Chodorkovsky is incarcerated in an insolated prison camp. One of Yukos’ other major share holders, Platon Lebedev, underwent the same fate. Both men say they have broken their bonds with Yukos. The company is at the edge of a financial abyss because the Russian tax agency has frozen Yukos’ bank assets and demands billions which they claim the company was supposed to pay. A group of western banks has requested that Yukos file for bankruptcy and those in the know suspect that the company will finally be swallowed up by its largest creditor, the state oil concern Rosneft.
Last month Chodorkovsky’s lawyers reported that they have filed a complaint with the European Court for Human Rights in Strasbourg. They declined to say anything further about the precise contents of their complaint. According to critics, the proceedings against Chodorkovsky were politically motivated. He was an outspoken opponent of the Kremlin and made no secret of his political ambitions. The lawyers of his earlier business partner, Platon Lebedev, had already made it known that they would proceed to the European Court.
