agree  Clare Hogg: I also like hjs45's suggestion but I would be more likely to use this one for a non-IT specialist audience (even though the term "hover" isn't that specialist, I still fear some (older) people might not understand it)

  -> This teminology reveals the fact that engineers were unable to express how to use the technology they were creating... "when you hover over" always makes me think "What am I, a helicoper? ;-)
