Firstly, I thought that “outbreak control” was a clear concise translation; but apparently Marcelo is right when he mentions that "outbreak" if often used as regards diseases. Moreover, I found his proposed translation a bit too long. Hard to decide! Thank you all very much for your answers! ;)

Excuse me: that's "over (a) population explosion"

Another option might be "control in regards to/in terms of..."

As for "outbreak," this is often used in regards to disease (e.g., an outbreak of bird flu), and may not be as appropriate as "population explosion" in this particular context.

Suerte, Mariana!
Peer comment(s):

agree Rachel Fell : control over the population explosion likely to occur at this stage, which makes it the most crucial/best one for attacking them (slightly too long, perhaps, but somethig like that...) - is it my imagination, or is the original badly phrased?"somethiNg"!

This is exactly how I understand it, as well. I agree; it's poorly phrased. Even in English, I prefer to include something like "in regards to the likely/probable population explosion" ("slightly too long, perhaps, but somethig like that" as you suggest).

neutral Marcelo González : Where have you ever heard/read this (to warrant such a high level of confidence)? This sounds really strange. Regards!
