faggot

Skjørtejeger is the word this is derived from, rompejeger is not a commonly used word in Norwegian. I think that this is a derogatory term for a homosexual man, and therefore words such as faggot (USA) or queer (UK) or even such coloquial terms such as bum boy could be used.

*** please check the spelling of faggot - I don't have a dictionary with me, and I am unsure how many t & g's there are.***

ass hunter

Are you sure you are in the right category? Whatever - this is not a common insult, and the translation is a literal one of the two components - rompe/ass and jeger/hunter. The meaning would have overtones of 'dirty faggot'.

Offensive term (see text)

I'm sorry to be offensive - but frankly - "Arse bandit" is what this would translate to in UK English - which as well as being a derogatory term for a homosexual male, it is in keeping with the similar explanations offered by my colleagues - you'd do well to check your source!!!
