after side seams are sewn Explanation: Often the sleeve is sewn to the body of the shirt after only the shoulder seam is sewn, thereby making it easier to sew up the sleeve seam and side seam all at once. For bespoke shirts, the two seams are not continuous so the side seams needs to also be stitched up and the sleeve is set in after this.
