'drukuti' is not clear, so i used as it is.

One assumes Drukuti was a king who for some reason is no longer so... perhaps the late father of the crown prince who is being asked to assume the throne or perhaps defeated or killed in battle by the person who is being asked to take his place on the throne. Knowing the context would be of help.

The English explanation mentions 'our conduct shoud be such...' but the original Hindi sentence does not come across like that. In Hindi it sounds like a command, instruction or entreaty to assume the throne of Drukuti.

Thank you for your note. I have also never heard of a King called Dhrukuti perhaps it is a metaphor or something. As there are no capital letters in Hindi, we cannot be sure even that Dhrukuti is a proper name or a kind of a higher mental state one can rise to!
Incidentally, I think I have made a grammatical mistake in my translation, it should be 'Ascend the throne' not 'ascend TO the throne'.

I have now looked up a reference book on Puranic names and there is no character called Drukuti in any of our scripture or puranic literature. Could you check again if the word is 'dru - kuti' or 'bru - kuti'. The Sanskrit/Hindi word 'brukuti' means eyebrows, and the 'throne of brukuti' would be the centre of the forehead which is supposed to be the seat of the intellect / the 'third eye' of wisdom. As you say it is from a philosophical poem, if the word is actually 'brukuti' the meaning could be 'to live of your life as guided by your intellect - conduct yourself with wisdom'.
