This is merely an educated guess, but I did find quite a few sites supporting my assumption:

A "Wippe" is a "rocker switch" and a "toggle switch" is a "Kniehebel" according to Ernst. Either would do the job but the "rocker switch" would not protrude so far out from the camera body.
