German term

Nachfolgeplanung

German to English Bus/Financial Human Resources
What is the best way to phrase this in English? It is part of an HR presentation about hiring employees and other HR things. Anything involving a variation of "successor" sounds so foreign.

Any suggestions for this related term?: Nachfolgemanagement

succession planning & succession management

Both succession planning and succession management are widely used terms in HR.

They don't apply to only senior managers and executives, but also line employees.

Management potential planning

Management potential identification.

I don't like the 'succession' word. Sounds too much like pure replacement.
Peer comment(s):

agree Lancashireman : Nice one, TK. Sounds less like a mealy-mouthed justification for a coup d'etat.
