für das "basic entry" schlage ich "Einspielung" vor, ich denke, es geht hier um die Übertragung der vorhandenen Daten (Bestandsdaten) in eine neue Datenbank. In diesem Zusammenhang spricht man oft von einer "Einspielung von Daten"

Leaving out the clauses (a comma seems to be missing before 'within'), the sentence becomes much clearer. The contractor has to enter the basic data of the asset data.
