Hi,

Recently, when viewing ProZ.com and some other websites, a pop-up for installing Adobe Flash Player appears. It disappears again when I click "Don't Install" and I have no further problems in viewing the site, but I was wondering what exactly it is useful for. Has anyone installed it and is it helpful in any way?

Please excuse the ignorance and thanks in advance for any comments.

Flash technology is becoming increasingly popular in web sites.
The software itself is not harmful.
If you don't have it, you may not be able to see certain animations or whatever exists on the web site that was designed using flash technology.
The player is freeware.

yes, Adobe Flash Player techonlogy is not harmful for any computer program. You must install it. It is being used with Java Script for animations and it doest take too much time for installation.
