Ionic Bond

Characteristics of an ionic bond

Covalent Bond
A covalent bond is a chemical bond resulting from SHARING of electrons between 2 bonded atoms.
Characteristics of covalent bond
Have lower melting points and boiling points compared to ionic compounds.
Does not conduct electrical current in molten or solution state.
Polar or Non-Polar bonds
Single Covalent Bond - Chemical bond resulting from Sharing of an
electron pair between two atoms.
Double Covalent Bond - Chemical bond resulting from sharing of two
electron pairs between two atoms.
Triple Covalent Bond - Chemical bond resulting from sharing of three
electron pairs between two atoms.

আয়ণীয় যৌগের তুলনায় নিম্ন গলণাঙ্ক এবং স্ফুটণাঙ্ক যুক্ত হয়।
সাধারনত গলিত বা দ্রবীভূত অবস্থায় তড়িৎ পরিবহণ করে না।
অনু গুলি মেরুধর্মী হতেও পারে আবার নাও হতে পারে।
