A pharmaceutical company is hiring a company to develop packaging for medical devices (amongst other things).
The above phrase has thrown me. Is it just "packaging design"??

Comment: "Thanks, Jonathan. In my final version I ended up writing "packaging format for shipment". I found "packaging format" on a Canadian Government website about the packaging and shipment of pharmaceutical products. "

IMO ist dies ein Sammelbegriff für design, layout, packaging.

Reference:
Versand*gebinde* means the package ready for shipment, including packaging, labeling, attached documentation and means for handling such as pallets, shrink wrapping or handling information. So this transcends packaging design and packing<stuffing and includes preparation for actual shipment up to the truck loading bay. Thus the US get-up should fit.
