French to English Tech/Engineering Metallurgy / Casting
Can anybody help me out with this phrase? It is related to Transportation domain.Does it mean "Chamfer end to end assembly with two tacks modified in the wrong way (round)"?- I am not an expert in this domain.

but I am assuming this is a welded assembly and you are looking at something like "butt-jointed assembly with two chamfered edges and backing weld"

If the two edges to be welded are chamfered, there is only very little parent metal at the "reverse" side of the weld, and a small weld is place there to join it together.
