I am translating a 350 pages report and 2 key terms are "area" (as within-country economic neighborhood) and "region" (as group of countries based on geographic proximity). The problem is that those 2 terms are translated by "région" in French. Has someone a better and different translation for "area" than "région"? Thanks a lot.

Mais j'ai oublié de préciser que "area" est également énormément utilisé pour décrire une "zone" dans sons sens le plus général. Mais comme ils utilisent le même mot en anglais, je pense que je vais le faire également en français."
