Explanation:
Este un proces controlat spre deosebire de `erupție` care este incontrolabilă.

În procesul de forare, în funcţie de necesităţi, se execută diferite
operaţii de investigare a sondei: carotaj electric, radioactiv sau sonic,
cavernometrie, măsurări de deviaţie. În prezent după realizarea găurii desondă
se execută operația de fisurare hidraulică cu apă sub presiune și nisip. În
acest fel roca este fisurată și fisurile se mențin (datorită nisipului) deschise.
Forajul dirijat oferă posibilități de executare a unor lucrări
de construcții (în special de montare a conductelor) fără a se săpa la suprafață
