German term
Voraussetzung für den Scheinerwerb
German to English
Social Sciences
Education / Pedagogy
This is from a professor's application to teach at a university. I'm wondering if there is a common term for this concept. The whole sentence is:
"Als Voraussetzung für den Scheinerwerb gilt bei mir ein Referat mit einer schriftlichen Hausarbeit von mindestens 10 Maschinenseiten bei Proseminaren und 20 Seiten bei Hauptseminaren."
I'm sure that it is floating in one of your brilliant and vibratory heads. Thank you in advance, Moabit.

In order to pass one of my classes/complete the course
If this is for a UK university, I think you'd have to say something like "In order to complete one of my courses/pass one of my classes, students must submit..."

Comment: "this is what he is going for I think. It is an American university, so I'd say "pass one of my classes" but good call on the UK version. Thanks, Hilary."

criteria for acquisition of a cerificate
I think what is meant is the professor's preconditions for granting certificates to his students

: just agree - comment was due to missing some context! You should double-check "certificate" as it may be "confirmation" or something like that is more appropriate.
