I'm not sure if a snappier term exists here. However, "Gargut" refers to the things to be cooked as a whole (i.e. in a generic sense). I wouldn't use "ingredients".

I think "Gargut" means the meat, the cake etc. that is to be cooked, grilled, baked etc., not just the single ingredients.
