Bio

I’m a translator (EN-FR-PT/ IT) copywriter and webwriter. And a Europeen citizen.I’m from Filottrano, in the Marche region, on the centre-east cost of Italy, where I lived for 30 years. After my High school studies in foreign languages (English/French/German) I worked with primary school children with disabilities and with their families for years. In 2004 I took part to Leonardo da Vinci Programm (now VET- Erasmus+) in Granada- Spain, where I studied Spanish and where I have had a formative training in ASPRODES- National association for deaf people’s rights. When I came back to Italy I started my studies in Social Sciences at the Università Politecnica delle Marche. After I graduated with honors in November 2007, I became a member of the Professional Association of Italian Social Workers and started a 1-year-training at the Prefettura. I then started working at their Immigration and Asylum Office in the Schengen area of the port in Ancona, in partnership with UNHCR- CIR (the UN Refugee Agency). I worked there for almost 3 years with Afghan, Palestinian, Syrian, Somalian, Eritrean, Kurdish, Iraqi and Iranian children, women and families - asylum seekers and refugees - coming directly from Greek and Turkish ships and ferries, where they had hidden in order to come to Italy. They had no documents and were terrified. During my time there, I heard the most horrendous stories about the war, and the most beautiful stories about life.In July 2011 I took part in an Erasmus + scholarship for a European Voluntary Service project in Lisbon lasting 1 year, and I’ve lived in Portugal ever since. I’ve learned Portuguese, I did an MA in Translation and Multilingual Communication at the Univerisdade do Minho and I taught Italian for 5 years. I live in Braga, in the North of Portugal now, with my partner, a Portuguese artist and painter, and our lovely 2-year-old daughter.
