I started translating as a student at Bonn University in 2004. First, I translated GER>ENG only. Part of my studies program (American Studies, North America Studies Program) required translation classes that I really enjoyed. For study abroad I taught German at Mount Holyoke College.
I applied for a Masters' Program at UT Austin and received my MA in Germanic Studies/Language pedagogy (Applied linguistics) in 2010. I continued on in the Educational Psychology Program at UT and received my PhD in 2014.
2008-2010 I translated old script news papers from GER>ENG, then I translated a few comic strips GER>ENG and proofread novels in ENG.
2009-present I have been working for the Center of open educational Resources as a consultant and content manager, I have completed numerous instructional design projects for them and do quality management for the German resource Deutsch im Blick and Grimm Grammar.
Besides having taught German at several institutions of Higher Education in the US since 2007, I have worked as an interpreter for mayors, business individuals etc. and provided educational consulting.
Since 2016, I decided to focus on my personal business. I provide instructional design, translation, proofreading, copy writing and quality management.
