Bio
Precise: I am devoted to delivering high-quality and accurate translation, using finely-honed research methods to thoroughly cross-check my work. I also use clear and timely communication throughout a project, making sure that specifications are properly met. Passionate: During my studies, I discovered that I had a sincere love of the French language, yet I was uncertain of how to apply it toward a career. The same occurred with my fascination and aptitude for anatomy and physiology: I never considered trying to train to be a physician, because I knew it was not the right fit. Since I am also an artist, many suggested that I venture into medical illustration. Again, I knew this was not right for me. When I discovered medical translation, however, I knew I had found my calling and have dedicated myself to the continual honing of my practice ever since. Prompt: I am keenly focused on delivering work on or ahead of deadline. For clients located in Europe, because of the difference in time zones, I can offer the advantage of overnight delivery of short documents (SAEs, for example). Personal Bio: Based in upstate New York, I am happiest as a freelancer, because it gives me the perfect opportunity to satisfy my already naturally-balanced left & right sides of the brain. On my left side: I delight in crosswords, rituals, and ticking off items on my task lists. On my right side: I am an artist and revel in multiple artistic disciplines, collaboration, and exploring new media. My translation practice benefits from this balance, since it requires not only accurate knowledge of grammar and terminology in two languages but also effective employment of nuance and problem-solving.
