2 years later, and not much has changed. I received a message with a title which looked so scammy that I actually just looked over it yesterday and almost deleted it automatically. Today, with some time on my hands, I took a second look, and was still so confused that I decided to look online for info before taking any further steps. I found this thread : ) which reassured me enough to make me click the (rush) job button (off course, the job was already gone), and all other links, just out of curiosity. The email contained two links: for accepting the job (with no info about the account creation etc.) and a small link to this website: https://www.proz.com/proz-translation-center, which has already been discussed here and which still does not contain any introduction for translators. Plus, most links on that site (the freshwork ones) do not work anymore.

So, I have the account now, created with just one click, with no real information about what it entails. No terms of use, just a link to this:
https://onedocument.translationcenter.org/workspace/about
No upfront OneDocument (yes, the same company) GDPR info, just a link to this:
https://onedocument.translationcenter.org/workspace/privacy
Full quote: "Privacy policy

The technology platform that powers this site is provided by ProZ.com. ProZ.com treats all information it collects in accordance with the ProZ.com privacy policy."

There is an "Information link" with this:
"General information

For a general explanation on the translation center powered by ProZ.com, including a couple of videos, visit the corresponding landing page.
Instructions for service providers

If you are a service provider working in this instance of the translation center powered by ProZ.com, you should read the Instructions for service providers document.

If you have questions or requests related to any job or task, post them as a message in the relevant translation center job page.
Instructions for administrators

If you are an administration in a translation center instance, you should:

Personalize it using the 'Settings' option in the 'Administration' menu, at the top-right corner of the translation center. See the Managing the settings folder to get the relevant information.
Invite and complete the information on the actors in your translation center (other administrators, clients and service providers) following the information to be found in the Managing of the actors folder.
Find advice for the management of the operation in the Managing the operation folder.

If still in need, ask for help!

If you still need help on issues related to a job, please post your request as a message in the corresponding job or job posting page.

If you need to contact the company or organization managing this translation center for other reasons, please leave a message through the Contact us! feature to be found in the Support menu option at the top of this page."

There is also a "Security" link with this (2015!):

"Security of the Translation Center Platform

Last Updated: 24 November 2015
Security Procedures, Policies and Logging

The Translation Center Platform is operated by ProZ.com in accordance with the following procedures to enhance security:

User passwords are stored using a one-way salted hash.
User access log entries will be maintained, containing date, time, User ID, URL executed or entity ID operated on, operation performed (created, updated, deleted) and source IP address. Note that source IP address might not be available if NAT (Network Address Translation) or PAT (Port Address Translation) is used by Customer or its ISP.
If there is suspicion of inappropriate access, ProZ.com can provide customers log entry records to assist in forensic analysis.
Logs will be kept for a minimum of 90 days.
Logs will be kept in a secure area to prevent tampering.

Intrusion Detection

ProZ.com, or an authorized third party, will monitor the Translation Center Platform for unauthorized intrusions. ProZ.com may analyze data collected by users' web browsers (e.g., device type, screen resolution, time zone, operating system version, browser type and version, system fonts, installed browser plug-ins, enabled MIME types, etc.) for security purposes, including to detect compromised browsers, to prevent fraudulent authentications, and to ensure that the Translation Center Platform functions properly.
Security Logs

All ProZ.com systems used in the provision of the Translation Center Platform, including network devices and operating systems, log information to their respective system log facility or a centralized server in order to enable security reviews and analysis.
Incident Management

ProZ.com maintains security incident management policies and procedures. ProZ.com promptly notifies impacted customers of any actual or reasonably suspected unauthorized disclosure of their respective customer data by ProZ.com or its agents of which ProZ.com becomes aware to the extent permitted by law.
User Authentication

Protected access to the Translation Center Platform requires authentication via one or more industry standard security mechanisms, such as username/password or OAuth2. Following successful authentication, a random session ID is generated and stored in the user's browser to preserve and track session state.
Physical Security

Production data centers used to provide the Translation Center Platform have access control systems. These systems permit only authorized personnel to have access to secure areas. These facilities are designed to withstand adverse weather and other reasonably predictable natural conditions, are secured by around-the-clock guards, two-factor access screening, including biometrics, and escort-controlled access, and are also supported by on-site back-up generators in the event of a power failure
Reliability and Backup

All networking components and web servers are configured in a redundant configuration. All customer data submitted to the Translation Center Platform is stored on database servers with multiple replicated clusters for higher availability. All customer data submitted to the Translation Center Platform is automatically replicated on a near real-time basis to a secondary data center and is backed up on a regular basis and stored on backup media. Any backups are verified for integrity and stored in ProZ.com data centers."

No payment info. No info about the translator evaluation system.
An account "deactivation" (why not deletion?) option.

Well, I have just used the "deactivate" option, and I can log back in, no problems. No "delete" option in sight.

It is illegal if they use your data without your consent Feb 15, 2020

I didn't give any permissions to OneDocument Translation Workspace to send me emails or using my data.
I received an email from them again on the 12th of February.

I remember a few years ago (about 4 years ago) a translation agency contacted me with a "bait", we agreed in almost everything that they would send me projects, but when they sent me the NDA that I should had to use this portal, I refused it.

So the collaboration has never started and I never registered myself on this portal!
I never allowed OneDocument Translation Workspace to send me jobs or use my data!

I would like them to delete my email address and all the data about me.
What kind of business policy is this?

Same here Nov 26, 2020

Hi Katalin,
Same here: I keep getting job messages even though I never signed up for this service (and I don't want to receive these messages). Did you find a solution to stop this?
Kind regards,
Irene

They found me too Nov 26, 2020

I received an invitation yesterday from OneDocument, German to Dutch Editing, 24000 words.

No further job information, like subject, rates, format, deadline, etc, etc.

OneDocument seems to be a good and thrustworthy company (looking at their rating on Blueboard), and I won't mind working for them, but not in this way. Very impersonal. I am a person, not a number.

Log in to my proz account through their link Mar 22

Hello all,

Would anyone mind telling me what's your experience with it?

I received an email from onedocument with just a link to their workspace (it mentions it is powered by proz)
It looks legit. The only thing is that it asks me to log in to my proz account on their site.

Did anyone do this and has anything to share?

Thanks in advance.

I have just received a similar e-mail. The thing is, I am expected to enter my proz credentials in the company website (https://onedocument.translationcenter.org), which does not feel safe necessarily. Could anyone from proz confirm that this is a 100% safe procedure?

Exactly the same here! Apr 15

I just received the following email from "OneDocument Workspace via ProZ.com ":

"We at OneDocument are managing language-related jobs in a translation center powered by ProZ.com and would like to count on your collaboration for these projects. If you decide to accept this invitation you will be considered for jobs posted on this platform.

The first link opens their supposed online workspace, and there's just a short introductory text:

"Welcome to the OneDocument Translation Workspace.
Please note that by accepting this invitation your email address will become visible to the administrators in the OneDocument Translation Workspace
By accepting the invitation you agree to the conditions stated above."

...but I couldn't find any condition, anywhere.

For me, this is enough to say NO. It might even be legit, but not professional at all.
