I lay for a moment, listening to Tarekhan breathing quietly at my side, the heat of the day already rising. I have never seen snow, of course, but I remember reading the report of a box of it carried from the farthest north, like treasure, packed in straw. And one hears the stories bought back from beyond the horizon. A freezing world. Deserts of snow. Rivers of ice. White and weightless, it may be held in the hand if one can endure the pain of its cold fire. And yet it is nothing but water. Water, which cannot be held in the hand. Only its incarnation has been changed, and I believe it changes back again depending on the world in which it finds itself. I also heard that when they finally opened the box, it was empty. This mysterious snow had vanished. Someone no doubt died for the disappointment. Such is treasure. Maybe this is also death. That is not what we hear from the Priests. We all learned the prayer: ‘when the box of the tomb is opened may the body be perfect for the perfect life after life’. But have they seen the heat of the sun god rot and putrefy the charming flesh of the living, the young and the beautiful, with their nonsensical hopes and pointless dreams, into the contorted shapes of horror and monstrosity and petrified agony? Have they seen lovely faces cut apart, holes ripped open through muscle, heads smashed to bony fragments, the strange puckering of burned flesh where the fat has boiled? Am rămas aşa întins pentru un moment, ascultând cum respira încet lângă mine Tarekhan, în vreme ce arşiţa zilei creştea.. Desigur că nu văzusem zăpadă vreodată, dar mi-am amintit că citisem o informare despre cineva care-o adusese într-o cutie, ambalată în paie, ca o comoară, tocmai din nordul îndepărtat. Uneori aud unele povestiri cumpărate cu bani grei, povestiri de dincolo de orizont. Despre o lume a gerurilor, plină de pustietăţi de zăpadă şi râuri îngheţate: albă şi imponderabilă, aproape c-ai putea s-o ţii în căuşul palmei, dacă ai putea îndura săgetarea focului ei rece. Şi e ciudat, pentru că e doar apă, iar apa nu poate fi apucată cu mâna. S-a modificat doar întruparea ei şi mă gândesc că s-ar putea schimba din nou, depinzând de lumea în care se află. The extent to which a company hands over administration of its fleet varies considerably from company to company, with some opting for a full outsourcing arrangement, incorporating all aspects of fleet management and administration, and others focusing on a particular activity, such as accident management. A successful outsourcing contract requires the provider to communicate closely with the customer's drivers and key business functions such as HR, finance and payroll, as well as external entities, including the Inland Revenue. Correctly managed, the end result of an outsourcing arrangement should be a more efficiently run fleet.
Outsourcing non-core functions, such as fleet management, can save companies money, offer greater flexibility in the ongoing control of overheads and provide a source of consolidated expertise from their chosen supplier.

I am a freelance translator now, but I have worked for a Foreign Trade Company for 10 years (technical, industrial, commercial translations) and for a US Mission for 21 years (Administrative, clerical, communications, consular, correspondence) and in parallel I have translated for other fields that I enjoyed very much like literature (fantasy and science fiction), philosophy. I am since 2006 a Certified freelance translator and have translated fiction (thrillers, detective), non-fiction (self-help) and children's books.
Lately I have translated Automotive, Finance-Banking, Commercial contracts, Legal/Consular Correspondence and other smaller texts.
I have graduated the University of Bucharest and have a diploma in English Philology. I also have a Certificate for technical/industrial translations. For all employers I can present a recommendation from my last place of work. I can move through Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access with ease. I have been surfing the Internet for years and know how to find what I need there. I also like to write and have published a fantasy piece in a review once after being awarded a Prize by the Romanian SF Convention at the time('80s) and I still like science fiction, history of enigmatic and lost civilizations, I listen to all the news reports (we have a satellite dish at home), I like nature, travels, space and its wonderful astronomical events, the baroque as a concept in general, pre-classical music, progressive rock, jazz, some original ethnic music, painting, walking, making friends, swimming. I have an impressive collection of books of mainly literature, philosophy, history, linguistics and a wide variety of dictionaries. I do not use automated programs, they seem not very reliable for literature, for example. But I do use online dictionaries and have a huge collection of these, too.
