industrialized by this operation.
They have no idea that it will be
coming from some of the world’s
largest open-pit mines. They have
no idea that it’s coming from
operations that are creating three
times more carbon emissions than
conventional oil. And, although a
lot of Americans would find it
comforting to know that they’re no
longer dependent on hostile
suppliers of oil from the middle
east, they don’t know, really, that
a sacrifice zone the size of
Florida has been created for the
United States so that the United
States will have some degree of oil
security for the next ten years.

this tarry reservoir of riches also
know as the as the Athabasca tar
sands. Canada transports over one
million barrels of tar sands crude
daily through pipelines to Midwest
refineries around the the Great
Lakes where it is then refined into
gasoline for the US gas tanks. Oil
companies and governments are
making billions of dollars, but few
seems to be taking responsibility
for the staggering environmental
costs of a modern day black gold
rush.
