there is no increase in the signal of the muscles of the lateral (external) compartment Explanation: There are three compartments of the knee in English, lateral, medial, and patellofemoral. The lateral is that which is on the "outside" of the knee, i.e. the right side of the right knee, left side of the left knee. This seems to make the most sense as the "external" compartment |
