Marion Cotillard 扮演 Piaff 确实很像,故事情节也很真实,只是她获太多奖,是不是也可以考虑其它并不太出名而很有希望的新秀?

It wasn't a "pink life" at all. Marion Cotillard interpreted Piaff's life pretty convincing. That movie is a worthwatching.

La môme 的一生不幸,但她勇敢地为歌唱献出生命,Cotillard 演她演得非常深入,得到那些奖项并不为过。如果能把那些奖项分给其它较不知名的新秀,给予他们鼓励,当然会是不错的。只是,那些评审委员们其实也不知道别人是怎样投票的,每一位委员都是凭着自己的专业理解,在候选人当中评分投票的。比方说,最佳女配角就出现了一位原本名不见经传的英国女演员。我想,这里头是没有政治操作的。

我多年前看到有关评奖操作内幕报导 Feb 25, 2008

当然并不是所有操作都是不正确的,正相反他们希望带来一定的道德信息。

第33届法国电影恺撒奖仪式上有一位我记不清其国家和名字的新获奖人说(大意):在最困难的时候,有人对我说,如果没人能懂得你的电影,到法国去,他们理解。

这句话比十项奖更令人感动和受鼓舞。

类似的言语,好象也有人对我说过:在最困难的时候,有人对我说,如果没人能懂得你,到Wenjer那里去,他会理解你。

这句话听起来很窝心,但是我自信没有因此耳朵软了或心软了;该硬的时候还是硬。

我曾经贴过一篇短篇故事《盲人国》,不知你还记不记得?

虽然我不确定我是否理解了你问的“或许你只与同类者打交道,才会有这种感觉?”所指的“感觉”是什么,不过我总觉得自己是这样的人:如果我看不见自己有问题,我会让别人指出来,再解释给我听。这也是我为什么说,文化冲击对人有好处,应该鼓励年轻人争取机会接受文化冲击。

普通话、上海话、广东话、日语、英语 我都听到了, 听不懂的大概其也能推测在谈什么. Plus there were also English subtitles to provide some clues. But for me to have had to keep glancing at the English subtitles to understand what was being said in standard Chinese was unexpected. Imagine how folks from Hong Kong could have understood the dialog without any Chinese or English subtitles.

电影刚开头是应引导观众进入故事情节的. 这么一段为时不短、七嘴八舌的会话 差点没使我把电视关掉. 又想想看 问题不一定在几位普通话的发音, 对话的韵律、delivery 也很有关系. 四位太太闲聊, 反而那位有明显四川口音的梁太太 比较好懂(或许是湖北话?).

BTW, 梁太太问麦太太还有没有从香港带来的丝袜, 麦太太回答都送人了. 英文字幕说是 I'm all sold out

Even if she did charge her friends or acquaintances for the stockings she brought for them, "I'm out of them" or "I've given them all out"would have been a much better choice of words in the translation. Of course eventually we find out she wasn't even in Hong Kong prior to this. 除了这个地方, 其它似乎都翻得挺好. 起码我没注意到有什么较大的问题. 拍这个电影有不少美国人参与, IMO the bar for the English translation should naturally have been raised higher.

我简单解释一下,那位年轻人并没有在获奖前说这句话去乞求别人,相反,如果他用这句话去试图获得同情怜悯,反而可能会被人看不起而失去被认可的机会。他这句话是在获奖仪式上,也就是说在他凭自己的劳动成果获得认可后,表达了衷心的感谢。

这应该和你所遇到的情况和人不同。

我刚才大概听了链接里打麻将那段 Feb 25, 2008

我觉得可能是电影制作时忽视了音响效果,我多少还能听懂几句带上海口音的普通话,但是感觉她们的整个对话录音不清楚,听起来很费劲,也不得不看字幕。也许我看到的那段是截取技术问题?

不是截取技术问题. It's actually much clearer here listening with headphones than while watching the scene on a TV set.

I agree it could be because the sound recording wasn't that hot.

昨夜又看了一次李安导演的《断臂山》,这部电影把同性恋演得自自然然的,对传统的看法很有颠覆作用,难怪那些卫道之士会感到不自在而跳起来痛骂。几位演员的演技都不错,把同性恋者的爱情演得和异性恋者的爱情没有多大不同,只是多了一层社会顾忌。怎的都觉得同性恋者的一生必须躲躲藏藏,煞是可怜。同性恋者在某些社会里被认为是败德的,因而加以迫害,但其实如果社会允许他们光明正大地生活,会造成的伤害必定大大减少。

李安拍这部戏虽然用意不再为同性恋者请命,但是呈现了对偏见的批判和对人权的关怀。即使不见得会是广泛的接受,这样的戏会让人至少知道应该以怎样的态度面对异类。

今晚看这部片子,太残忍太沉重,好几次不得不换台,看不下去。Roman Polanski 是个很有头脑的电影工作者,提醒我们不能忘记过去,每一个有良心的人都有责任避免这样的悲剧重演。
